There is Irish soda bread on the snack table, everyone is wearing green, the sun is shining, and the bagpipes are playing. It must be Saint Patrick’s Day! Most of our celebration of this day happens the Sunday after, when my hometown hosts their annual parade. So since today is Throwback Thursday, I thought I would use this post to share a few photos of Saint Patrick’s Days from years past.
May the sound of happy music
And the lilt of Irish laughter
Fill your heart with gladness
That stays forever after.
May there always be work for your hands to do,
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine warm on your windowpane,
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you,
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
May the Irish hills caress you
May her lakes and rivers bless you
May the luck of the Irish enfold you
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May you keep safe in the gentle, loving arms of God.
